As part of PT. Taka Geodrill Indonesia (TGI)’s commitment to upstream oil and gas exploration, TGI provided the vessels for a 2D High Resolution (2DHR) seismic survey carried out by PT. Taka Hydrocore Indonesia (THI) on assignment from PT. Saka Energi Indonesia (SAKA).

About the project

The project ran from 27 October to 17 November 2025 in the Pekawai Block, East Kalimantan, with field work on 7–9 November 2025.

Collaboration

  • TGI provided vessels meeting technical and QHSE standards and complying with national and international regulations, including IMO requirements, SOLAS, MARPOL, Law No. 17 of 2008 on Shipping, and the classification requirements of BKI, RINA, and DNV.
  • THI, as survey contractor, operated the 2DHR seismic data acquisition in the field according to SAKA’s technical instructions.
  • SAKA, as the oil and gas operator, provided the technical mandate and supervision to keep the survey in line with the exploration plan.
TGI’s role as strategic vessel partner strengthens our service to SAKA and underlines TAKA Group’s commitment to developing the national upstream oil and gas sector.

Through this synergy, fleet logistics, technical support, and field operations were met in full, so the seismic survey ran safely, on time, and produced quality data for exploration decisions.
